This is insulting. Does everyone just think that animals are here to be cute?
No. They’re here to provide us with food.
That was the most ignorant comment I have read today. I hope that was sarcasm.
May I suggest the ujjayi breathing technique? This technique is also called ocean-breathing, because the sound that comes out sounds like the waves crashing onto the land. By listening to this sound, you focus your spirit, which gives you a calming effect.
Ujayi literally means ‘winner’, it’s a Sanskrit word that translates to victory breath.
So, how to do it:
- Sit in a simple lotus position or just cross your legs. Perhaps, sit in a chair, but make sure you sit straight and comfortably.
- First breathe through your open mouth. When you breathe out, say ‘ha’ out loud. Do it a couple of times. It kind of feels like you’re breathing clouds on a cold winterday.
- Close your mouth and let your lips calmly rest on each other. Concentrate on your throat, close off your glottis a little, and breathe in and out with a ‘ha’. This will sound like a screechy sound- THIS is the ujjayi breath.
- Do the ujjayi technique, to start off, three minutes after one another. The better you can do this technique, the longer you can do it - as long as it is comfortable to you.
You can do this technique anywhere - remember, all you need is your breath.
